Borneo Visa (MM2H) Sabah

About Sabah-MM2H Program

The Sabah Malaysia My Second Home (Sabah-MM2H) Program is a Sabah state-specific initiative designed to attract foreign individuals and families who wish to live, invest, study or retire in Sabah, Malaysia. This program is administered by the Kementerian Pelancongan, Kebudayaan dan Alam Sekitar Sabah (KepKAS), the Sabah Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Environment. KepKAS is responsible for overseeing the application process, ensuring that all participants meet the program’s criteria. Whereas, the immigration department manages the issuance of Sabah-MM2H residency visas.

Under this program, successful applicants are granted a renewable multiple-entry visa for 5+5 year (Silver Package) 15 years (Gold Package) and 20 years (Platinum Package). The Sabah-MM2H program is distinct from the federal MM2H program, as it is specifically tailored to suit the needs and objectives of Sabah, allowing for more localized and flexible policies that align with the state’s growth and development goals.

Participants can invest in Sabah’s real estate market, with eligibility to purchase new condominium priced above a set minimum threshold, currently RM600,000 and above. The program offers three categories—Silver, Gold, and Platinum—each with varying levels of financial commitment and benefits, providing an inclusive approach for individuals with different financial backgrounds.

In addition to its economic incentives, the program requires participants to spend a minimum of 30 cumulative days in Sabah each year, ensuring a genuine connection to the state. Applicants must meet specific criteria such as financial stability, health screenings, and age requirements (typically 30 years and above).

The Sabah-MM2H program is a strategic initiative aimed at stimulating investment, boosting the local economy, and enhancing global exposure for Sabah. By offering a more tailored and accessible route to long-term residency, it serves as an attractive option for those seeking a second home in a region known for its natural beauty, vibrant culture, and warm climate.
